Prem

Nashibat nasta tar kadhich tutla asta...Hrudayashi Hruday kadhich julala nasta.
Punha punha bhetavasa vatla hi nasta...
Ek mekanvar prem 'jyot' sarkha vijun gela asta.
Te ekaa naadi pramane fakt vegat vahat jatay,
Mogra banun gharachi shobha vadhvat netay,
Gharta Banat jaat ahe...Bas ekatra rahnyachi te vaat ata pahtey.!!

'Rahe Pyar Hamesha'

Maan kar rahaa hai aaj kuch likhun,
Kuch alag, paar karu sari deewarin,
Khatam kar dun sare dard,
Hai mere kalam mein takad itni, ke mein jeet jaun har kadam.

Is kalam se likhkar todd dun sari lakerin,
Lelu paas apne un bichade hui bhaiyon ko

Likhun kuch aisa Ki aasman jhuk jaye itna pyar dekhkar
Likhun kuch aisa Ki Dharit kabhi na roye, itni nafrat sehkar.

Hazaaron Khwaishein aisi

Lyrics that has inspired me lately from the movie...Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, a Sudhir Mishra movie 2005.
The movie's title track 'Hazaaron Khwaahishen Aisi' is taken from the couplet of Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib & beautifully fused with English liners.

Another beautiful song written by Swanand Kirkire - Bavra mann combined with English liners.

Hazaaron Khwaahishen Aisi – 2.

A thousand desires such as these
A thousand moments to set this night on fire
Reach out and you can touch them
You can touch them with your silences
You can reach them with your lust
Rivers mountains rain
Rain against a torrid hill’s cape
A thousand
A thousand desires such as these

hazaaroN KHwahishaiN 'eisee ke har KHwahish pe dam nikle
bohot nikle mere armaaN lekin fir bhee kam nikle

I loved rain as a child
As a lost young man
Empty landscapes
Bleached by a tired sun
And then
And then suddenly it came
Like a dark unknown woman
Her eyes scorched my silences
Her body wrapped itself around me
Like a summer without end

nikalna KHuld se aadam ka sunte aayaiN haiN lekin
bohot be_aabru hokar tere kooche se ham nikle.

hazaaroN KHwahishaiN 'eisee ke har KHwahish pe dam nikle
bohot nikle mere armaaN lekin fir bhee kam nikle

Pause me, hold me, reach me,
Where no man has gone
Crossing the seven seas
With the wings of fire
I fly towards nowhere
And you
Rivers mountains rain
Rain against a scorched landscape of pain

mohabbat meiN naheeN hai farq jeene aur marne kaa
usee ko dekh kar jeete haiN jis kaafir pe dam nikle

A thousand desires such as these
A thousand moments to set this night on fire
Reach out and you can touch them
You can touch them with your silences
You can reach them with your lust
Rivers mountains rain
Rain against a torrid hill’s cape
A thousand
A thousand desires such as these.

Bavra Mann 1 – Hazaaron Khwaahishen Aisi

Sun in the earth sunflower. Bird in the air rain. Eye within eye daybreak.
Bavra mann dekhne chala ek sapna...

streets we have never walked on,
windows we have never opened,
hands we have never held,
dreams we shall never, never see again.

Bavra mann dekhne chala ek sapna,
bavre se mann ki dekho, bavri hain baatein
bavri si dhadkanein hain, bavri hain saansein

lives we have never lived,
hopes we never realized,
fires we have never lit,
laughs we shall never, never make again

Bavra mann dekhne chala ek sapna...

I hear those strange whispers again.

Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Mein Khayal Yata hai Ki........

1. Ek nazar Dekh toh lo, kya ho gayi hai subhah! Ya abhi bhi raat ki chaddar odhe hai suraj chupa!
Choti si kiran le ayi naya din anokha. Par dhak gayi woh Phool pattiyon mein karke sabko undekha!
Lagi thi subha, par woh raat hi thi, Bidiyon mein jakadi hui woh ek ajad ladki hi thi!

2.Kuch is tarah pyar karo ki....
asman mil jaye zameen se,
nadi paas rahe kinare ke,
Phool khilte rahe titli ke liye,
Chand Door na jaye chandani se.
Aise pyar karo ki, zamana dekhte reh jaye!
Is tarah karo ki, sari Kayanat ek ho jaye!

3.Khud par naraz ho ya, khud par nahin yakein,
Samay hi hai jo kuch kar sakta hai,
Samay hi hai jo khudko apne aap se mila sakta hai.

Dil mera nadan mayus hoke aaj bhi rota hai...
Zindagi toh khatam ho nikali hai, phir bhi woh aaas lagaye baitha hai.

5.Kisi pata tha aisa din bhi ayega....Jeetati hui bazzi woh harr jayega.
Laga tha uske tute dil se ek ansun na girega...Mayus hokar nikal padega.
Parr woh toh bahut roya...har roj toh harta tha, par kabhi na dikhata tha...
parr aajZindagi ne hara diya...dheere dheeere usee paraya kar diyaaa...

6.Unke liye kya rona, jo tumhe paa na sake...
Hasna toh hame hai jo woh zindagi ko samajh n sake.
Dil tod kar chale gaye.
Yeh kaise soch liye ki hum jee na sakenge.
Hum toh ek andhi hai....jo toofan bankar unhe satate rahenge.

My best Companion!

Someone has said - 'A person who cannot enjoy Music & poetry is beastlike'. Music is the purest form of inspiration. It takes you closer to your dreams. It’s the magic that the musician creates & its land that the listener goes into. It’s one hell of a transition!
I am just another Music freak here, who gets inspired daily by some, or the other tune, melody or rather composition. 'I believe music has its own language'. A listener just has to identify which one is their’s.
While listening to some compositions sometimes, I wonder, how it exactly depicts the story going in your mind. Sometimes you can relate to the song, you can relate to every single melody it creates.
My taste for music has never been constant, there was an age when i was wooed by every average Ghazal too. There were times when i thought that ‘pehla nasha’, ‘Aao na’ ‘zara zara’ were the only great songs on earth. Teenage, I suppose!
As I grew up, I had a chance to visit Jodhpur - Jaisalmer in 2004, where I was introduced to 'Kesariya balam...padharo mhare des mein'...a song that the Rajasthan locals sing. Its been sung by hundreds of artists for eg. suresh wadkar, but the original one coming from the soil of Rajasthan, sounds immensely the best! The song sounds the purest, while You sit by tall walls of Jailselmer fort, gazing at the carved windows, feeling the textured pathways, it’s as if the Busker is trying to tell his own story. Its played on an instrument called the 'Ravanhatta'.
Its been some years since i have become an absolute fan of Indian ocean, the band....Their music their life...their struggle...is what you can truly relate to it. ‘Melancholy ecstasy’, ‘desert rain’, ‘Bondhu’(Bengali), ‘Kandisa’(in Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus Christ), bandheh’, ‘Chand’, ‘Shunya’, Leaving home’, ‘Kaun’(kashmiri), ‘Jhini’, ‘Bula raha hai’ have been my favorites. It can be described as an indo-rock band that incorporates Sholkas, Sufism, Mythology, folk in their compositions. Though being a Maharashtrian, I still feel connected to these songs.
Susmit sen’s new & innovative ways of playing guitar, feels as if he is finding a new vocabulary for his piece of music. Amit Kilam’s drumming is what the band gets the rhythm & energy from. They are extremely vibrant pieces & you just cannot stop yourself to sing along with him. Truly the best one! Rahul, the wildest of them all, in his own way hits some of the best notes from his guitar. His powerful vocal takes you to the roots of the country. Finally late Asheem, called as “the man with the golden voice” , has given some of the best ‘alaps’ in the song bandheh, kandisa.
Songs like the November rain by guns & roses, It must have been love by Roxette, U2’s With or without you, Walk on, James blunt’s Your are beautiful, MJ’s You are not alone, Heal the world, Eagles Hotel California. Bryan Adams summer of 69, When You Say Nothing At All - Ronan Keaton, John Denver - Perhaps Love, Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight, Wham - carless whispers, John Denver - I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane, Phil Collins - Another Day In Paradise, Last Christmas, TheBeatles –Letit be, Imagine, Celine Dion - just walk away, Coldplay - parachutes – trouble, Cold play - fix you, can't help falling in love - Elvis Presley, Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, ComingBackToLife, Edward Maya Ft.Alicia Stereo Love - are few great ones to listen to. Great compositions! Great Lyrics! Truly Great Music!
Classical music is something I am experimenting now-a-days; by far Kishori Amonkar’s voice I have found the best. The one I liked amongst her songs were ‘Megha Jhar Jhar Barsat Re’, Raga Malhar & Ek hi sang hote. Apart from her, farida khanum- aaj jane ki zid na karo, Mehdi hasan’s Ranjish Hi Sahi, Amrita Pritams voice & her poetry - mai tainu fer milaNgi, JagjitSingh Ghazals like YehNayanDareDare, pyar ka pehla khat, Koi-Yeh-Kaise-Bataye, GhamKaKhazanaTera, HumToHeinPerdesMein, HotonSeChhuLoTum, Hosh Walon Ko Khabar Kya, koi fariyaad, KahinDoorJabDin, MAA SUNA MUJHE VO KAHANI, MainNasheMeinHoon are my personnel favorites. Marathi Music industry has created some of the best composers like Ajay Atul ,Sandeep & salil kulkarni, they are young , talented & are getting just the right kind of response from the masses.
Music is the rope that binds the true oneself & the one that he wants to be. My experiments to listen to the new & various zones of music will never fade away. Music has always been, will always be my ‘Best companion’!
